In this post, we show another nebula that we photographed during our stay in Namibia.🔭🇳🇦

NGC 6357 is an emission nebula in the constellation of Scorpius, approximately 5770 light years away from our solar system. It is a massive star-forming region located in the inner regions of the Milky Way and contains many hot, young stars as well as gas and dust clouds that are excited to glow by ultraviolet radiation and stellar winds.
It is also known as the Lobster Nebula

In this post, we would like to present to you a detailed capture of the SH2-131 nebula. Almost centrally in the image, you can identify the dark nebula region Barnard 161.💛🔭

Unfortunately, we have little information about this nebula, as we could find scarce details. Most articles discussing this region often describe the Elephant Trunk Nebula, which is also present in the nebula.

The image itself is an SHO (Sulfur, Hydrogen, Oxygen) capture, following the Hubble palette.

During our research for this post, we found that there is very little information about LBN 249 in our usual sources. Here are a few brief facts: LBN 249 is part of an H II region in the Cygnus constellation.

There are countless astronomical objects out there – and then there are those special highlights that every astrophotographer should capture at least once.

One of them is the Antares Region. It’s one of the most colorful objects in the night sky and an absolute must-have. Unfortunately, we can’t photograph it from our location. But during our astronomy trip to Namibia last year, we had the perfect opportunity and, of course, we made the most of it.

We usually don’t share details about the equipment we use, but this time, we’re making an exception. You’ll find all the details about our setup below in this post. And don’t worry – we’re not sponsored. The reason we’re sharing this is simple: we want to show that this stunning object can already be photographed with minimal equipment.

There are countless astronomical objects out there – and then there are those special highlights that every astrophotographer should capture at least once.

One of them is the Antares Region. It’s one of the most colorful objects in the night sky and an absolute must-have. Unfortunately, we can’t photograph it from our location. But during our astronomy trip to Namibia last year, we had the perfect opportunity and, of course, we made the most of it.

We usually don’t share details about the equipment we use, but this time, we’re making an exception. You’ll find all the details about our setup below in this post. And don’t worry – we’re not sponsored. The reason we’re sharing this is simple: we want to show that this stunning object can already be photographed with minimal equipment.

For the holiday season, we present NGC 2264, a combination of two celestial objects: the Christmas Tree Cluster 🎄, an open star cluster, and the Cone Nebula, a striking emission nebula. Together, they form one of the most iconic cosmic structures of the winter sky.

The Helix Nebula (NGC 7293) is one of the most famous planetary nebulae, located about 650 light-years from Earth 🌎 in the constellation Aquarius. This nebula formed when a sun-like star reached the end of its life cycle and expelled its outer layers into space, creating a ring-like structure often called the cosmic eye.

With a diameter of about 2.5 light-years, the Helix Nebula is one of the largest and closest planetary nebulae to us. It was discovered in the mid-18th century and later cataloged by William Herschel. The core of the former star is now a hot white dwarf, which ionizes the surrounding gas and gives the nebula its characteristic colors.

In this post we show the globular star cluster Tucanae 47 (also known as NGC 104). 💛
Tucanae 47 is the second brightest globular cluster in the sky and can be recognised with the naked eye as a small patch of nebulosity under good conditions.
The name Tucanae 47 comes from the circumstance that the star cluster was initially mistaken for a star due to its compact appearance and high apparent brightness and was named accordingly.

In this post, we present the Shrimp Nebula region, also known as IC 4628, an emission nebula located in the Sagittarius arm of the Milky Way, approximately 6,000 light-years from Earth 🌎 in the constellation Scorpius. This nebula is primarily composed of hydrogen gas, ionized by nearby massive stars.
Several other celestial objects are visible in the field, including the open star clusters NGC 6268 and NGC 6242, the globular cluster NGC 6227, and the dark nebula Barnard 48.🔭💫

In this image, we present the Eagle Nebula (M16), also known as the Star Queen Nebula.💛
This emission nebula is a birthplace of stars, mainly composed of hydrogen. Spanning about 20 light-years, it features towering columns of dust, some reaching up to 9.5 light-years in length. At their tips, new stars are forming, which is why they are famously called the Pillars of Creation.

This photo was captured during our holiday in Namibia🇳🇦, using a locally rented telescope with a 100 mm aperture and 700 mm focal length."

In this image, we present the Eagle Nebula (M16), also known as the Star Queen Nebula.💛
This emission nebula is a birthplace of stars, mainly composed of hydrogen. Spanning about 20 light-years, it features towering columns of dust, some reaching up to 9.5 light-years in length. At their tips, new stars are forming, which is why they are famously called the Pillars of Creation.

This photo was captured during our holiday in Namibia🇳🇦, using a locally rented telescope with a 100 mm aperture and 700 mm focal length."

This fascinating galaxy, also known as the 'Dusty Hand Galaxy,' shows significant distortions and an increased star formation rateindications of a past collision with another galaxy. The nearby NGC 2146A is too distant to be responsible, so it's believed that NGC 2146 has already fully absorbed its former companion

One of our favorite objects, the Fish Head Nebula 🐠 IC 1795 in the constellation of Cassiopeia. 🔭💫
The nebula is located about 6000 light-years from Earth 🌎 and is adjacent to the much larger Heart Nebula.

The image was taken in September of last year and in addition to the smallband data we also took RGB images for the star colors. Whether you can see it here on IG remains to be seen 😁

IC 2944 is an emission nebula with an embedded star cluster in the constellation Centaurus in the southern sky. The nebula originates from an H-II region of the Milky Way, which is about 6500 light years away and thus located in the Sagittarius Arm, the next inner spiral arm of the Milky Way.🔭💫

In this post we show you an image of the galaxy pair bode's galaxy (M81) and Cigar Galaxy (M82). 💫
Both galaxies form a physical galaxy group, if you swipe you will see a labeled version of the image.

The irregular shape of M82 was created by the interaction with M81 during a close flyby about 500 million years ago, during which M82 was dramatically altered. In the inner region, the rate at which new stars are formed from interstellar matter has increased dramatically.

The Heart Nebula 💛💙, also known as IC 1805, is a stunning emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia, about 7,500 light-years from Earth. 🌎

It's named for its shape, reminiscent of a human heart, and is home to a massive star-forming region.
Direct inside the Heart Nebula is LDN 1369, a dark nebula that appears as a shadowy figure against the glowing background. These dark nebulae are made up of thick clouds of dust, so dense that they block out the starlight behind them.
